Laziness, dishonesty, lack of sense of humor. Here is a list of things that make anyone look less attractive to other people (all based on science):
1. Do not sleep
Not mother chat: fewer hours of sleep do you get uglier. In 2010, Swedish researchers took two pictures of 23 people: one after a good night's sleep, and the other, after a sleepless night.
Then other participants compared the photos - and images of insomniacs were classified as ugly, sick and even sadder.
2. Be a bad person
Disney Villains are usually ugly - and science agree. Knowing that a person is considered "evil" can make you look uglier: In a study done in China in 2014, participants noted several portraits of different people, all with a neutral expression.
In some of these people, the words "bad," "evil" and "bad person" were added - and these were considered ugly.
3. Have a bad posture
Staying with the contracted shoulders, facing the front, forming a hump on the back makes you look less attractive. Again, I'm not your mother speaking; is the science - or at least so says a study from Princeton University.
In the study, scientists created several fake profiles in Tinder, some with pictures of people with a good portura, others with pictures of bad postures - and people with more correct postures gained more matches.
4. Opinion stressed
Seriously, it was not his mother who wrote that matter. A study done in 2013 at the National Academy of Sciences of the United Kingdom showed that we feel less attracted to people with high concentrations of cortisol - the hormone linked to stress - in the blood.
5. Opinion overly happy
You can relax: those people too happy really are a bag - and science proves.
In 2011, researchers at the University of British Columbia showed, to a thousand participants, pictures of people with happy and proud poses, asking who they thought attractive. The most cheerful and proud were considered uglier.
6. Do not have a sense of humor
There is nothing more discouraging than tell a joke to someone and the person getting serious - and this despondency is multiplied by a thousand when it comes to a romantic encounter.
A study by the University of California, conducted in 2009, shows that: different participants observed portraits of some people, and showed more interest when scientists commented that the person in the picture was funny or like to hear jokes.
7. Be Lazy
That preguicinha Sunday is good too, but when it is related to work, just letting you uglier.
This is shown by a series of experiments at the University of New York, published in 2004: in one, new students a six-week course gave anonymous notes to the beauty of his colleagues - people they did not know.
At the end of the course, the scientists asked students to give a new note in the beauty of his colleagues, but this time, the laziest were considered ugly - even if at the beginning were among the cutesy class.
8. Have a very similar smell to the other person
It sounds confusing, but the explanation is genetic: looking for partners that are not nearly as different or as similar to procreate. And the smell is the way that human beings have to check that DNA compatibility.
This is what shows a study by the University of New Mexico, in which scientists compared the DNA samples of women and their husbands and compared with responses to a questionnaire about adultery.
Couples with the most similar DNA tended to have more adulterous experiences.
9. Being dishonest
Lying is nothing sexy - even when you're trying to look more attractive. In a survey of University of Illinois scientists have pictures of different people to the participants.
Each photo had a small description of the person portrayed - a text explaining if she was honest or dishonest. In the end, the honest people were regarded as the most attractive.
